Problem

Crypto wallet UX remains a primary barrier to mainstream adoption: onboarding is noisy, transaction states are ambiguous, and network configuration requires domain knowledge most users lack. Gauss Wallet needed an interface that made balance review, transfers, and dApp interaction legible without sacrificing the explicit-consent model that makes self-custody safe.

Approach

  • Component-driven architecture over ad-hoc screens so transaction-signing UI could be reused identically across send, swap, and dApp-initiated flows — one audited confirmation surface rather than several.
  • Real-time price feeds alongside raw balances so users evaluate transfers in familiar fiat terms without leaving the wallet.
  • Explicit transaction states (pending, confirming, finalized, failed) with error messaging that surfaces the underlying cause rather than a generic failure.
  • Progressive disclosure for network configuration: custom RPC and advanced settings are reachable but not on the primary path.
  • Accessibility-first layouts to accommodate users outside the typical crypto-native demographic.
